So I’m a blog admirer. That is to say I have a number of blogs I love including and in addition to my blog roll to the right. One of the blog’s I love to read is Manerva’s 12 Happy Chickens. She did a meme while I was on vacation and left it open for others to take a tag instead of handing them out. So, I decided to take one – never done a meme before, so this should be interesting…
Here are the rules as dictacted on her post.
1. We have to post these rules before we give you the facts.
2. Players start with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
3. People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
5. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.
I’m going to skip 4 and 5 as I’m not comfortable tagging others at this point. However, if you’d like to take a tag, feel free to do so. Just leave a comment with a link to your meme post.
1. Taking a cue from Manerva, I’ll reveal that I’ve got 2 tattoos. The first one I got at 18 because everyone else was getting them and I wanted to be cool. The second I got in college because you can’t have just one. I got it to celebrate my first day of powder skiing where I didn’t look like or feel like a moron. It is a snowflake.
2. While many people think I’m pretty smart (obviously including me), and I did in fact have an academic scholarship for college, I chose the University of Utah not for their scholastics or generous offer of funds but because there were 8 ski resorts within 90 minutes. Luckily that one worked out okay.
3. I’m not really a dog person. I find them to be a little too needy, hairy and slobbery. Yet we have two big dogs and they were both my idea.
4. When I was 16 I slipped and fell walking across a parking lot and broke my ankle in four places. It required 2 surgeries and 6 screws (4 of which I still have) to fix it. At the hospital, as I was getting ready for the first surgery, the doctor commented that they’d seen a lot of them that winter, but I was the first person under the age of 60.
5. Aside from hanging with Mike and puttering in the yard, I’d rather be in my kayak on the water than anywhere else. This is a recent realization.
6. I cannot wink one eye cleverly or roll my Rs in that sexy Latin way. These are deficiencies that I will always regret.
7. My favorite colors are lime green and chocolate brown. And I try to wear one or the other every day.
8. While I like to knit, I’m a hat knitter and not much else. I don’t have the attention span for larger projects and never finish the ones I start. This is proven by the unfinished pairs of mittens that I gave to my mom (hi mom!) and Mike’s mom for Christmas last year. There’s a slight chance I might finish them by Christmas this year, but I’m not holding my breath.
And now it’s your turn!

Hey! Thanks so much in joining in. Glad to know someone else out there has to have more than one tattoo- as I think they are habit forming too! Although I coulda done with out a few….
Love your blog- I’ll be back!
